Microsoft level 61 compensation

With 4 years of experience as SDE, the offer is 130k base 15k sign on 30k stock over 4 years Equally( so 7500$/yr) I feel the sign on and stock is less. I have only this offer. Any thoughts on negotiation? Update on the offer: 135k base, 40k sign on for 2 years( 20k in one year and 20k in another year) and 75k stocks for 4 years equally

Microsoft rrcded Mar 17, 2019

30k over 4years?.....

Intel hellosam OP Mar 17, 2019

Yes

Intel hellosam OP Mar 17, 2019

It’s vested for 4 years equally

Cisco bitset Mar 17, 2019

4 years of experience in India/China or USA? Did you have Ms in USA? Did you get Relocation ?

Intel hellosam OP Mar 17, 2019

30k for 4 years . Vested equally. So 7500$ per year

Intel hellosam OP Mar 17, 2019

Masters in USA and 4 years in intel USA

Intel hellosam OP Mar 17, 2019

Relocation is in two options. Cash out or some service handling your move .

Intel hellosam OP Mar 17, 2019

Levelsfyi says a median sign on bonus of 15k. I feel it’s too low. When I started out at intel I got 15k. Does Microsoft usually pays this low?

Microsoft vffrds6;?& Mar 17, 2019

Yes. Annual refresher is a joke.

Microsoft unfanged Mar 17, 2019

Not a high offer, but also could be worse, like L60 115 base etc

Microsoft sFAB78 Mar 18, 2019

I got friends got identical numbers about three years ago.

Rubrik unicornboi Mar 18, 2019

I was offered more than that as a new grad (was given 150k/3.5 years). Aim at least for 120k, but even that feels a bit low.

Microsoft pterraByte Mar 18, 2019

New grads are always offered more stock than industry

Cisco bitset Mar 18, 2019

@pterra, it’s true new grad get better offers than L61

Qualtrics '🈚🀄🎶🈶 Mar 18, 2019

Can't believe M$FT low balls this hard

MathWorks fXss35 Mar 18, 2019

I just got a 59 offer that looks better 109 base 120k over 3.5 years in stocks 25k joining You seem to have been low balled.

Intel hellosam OP Mar 18, 2019

Did you have an another offer? What is your experience

MathWorks fXss35 Mar 18, 2019

New grad masters. I was expecting to get another offer, but it most certainly would have been like 50k lower than MS. So not something I can negotiate with. I am a non traditional team in MS build specifically for AI. So not SDE, but AI Data Scientist.

Qualcomm watteh Mar 18, 2019

Does msft just generally low ball industry hires? Or do they give decent RSU to those who come from select companies?

Cisco bitset Mar 18, 2019

Yes, they low ball. Not sure if it is for select companies or all. Probably supply demand game goes if select companies is to be factored
