Microsoft lowballing Level 59 - SDE (seattle)
Here is my compensation: Base : 115k, stock :70k (4 years), joining bonus : 10k (5k first month and 5k after an year) , relocation : 4k. I tried to negotiate , they told base is not negotiable. Stock can be made to 120k (4 years). Level can be made 60(under contention). I have competing offer , but they are giving me so less relocation bonus and joining bonus. How can i negotiate to increase both of bonus ? Should i tell I won't be joining if bonuses are not increased? I have competing offer but they are not listening. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Why is the joining and relocation bonus so low?
May be you living close by , idk . What I know is if you joining tier 1 company from low tier companies , you can't negotiate so much. Unless you have offer from FANG

Base is what L60 people get. So base can't be moved much

New grads get 25k bonus (full amount) and 6.5 k relocation bonus. Isn't mine less than that? I am happy to accept if they increase joining bonus and relocation.
College grad offers from Microsoft are competitive. Industry offers sub L65 are paltry and far from competitive

The 3 year India experience don’t mean shit. And when you say new grad you mean return interns. Those gets higher bonus and stock. This is a good offer for 0 yoe.
No. One of my friends worked in the same company as me for 1 year and got into msft (happy for her :) ) . She got 109 base , 6.5k relo , 25k bonus , 120k stock (Level 59) . Isn't it a better offer than mine with less experience?
The higher base will be better for you in the long run than relo although I am surprised it's so low, I thought it was standard for US moves and then international moves. Cash bonus is a bummer.

This is right TC at your level. Even it depends from whom you have competing offer.
