Microsoft BAG group ( Redmond WA) Base : 125k Stock: 50k divided by 4 years Annual bonus: 0-20% on base. NO joining bonus I have 6 yrs of sw development experience. The recruiter didn’t know if the offer was for SDE2 or senior software engineer(?). He said it is most likely for senior soft engg. The offer certainly does not look like a senior sw offer! The recruiter mentioned that my interview feedback is great. I currently make 10k more on my base at expedia. I don’t have any competing offers. Has anyone been in the same boat? This is ridiculously low. Do they negotiate?

Sure as sh*t the recruiter knows the level. I wouldn’t accept any offer without knowing the level. But just for kicks, this is probably an L61 offer. You could try to negotiate but this is a lowball offer.

This is the worst MS offer I've seen in recent times, worse than CSEO. It's a joke recruiter said not sure if it's SE II or Senior. It's a lie, trash it and move on.
CSEO is not necessarily bad if you working on interesting stuff. You can make 300K easy as Senior.
Can you breakdown the 300k figure? The avg base for L63 is around $155-160k, across all orgs. Unless you are counting stellar Sign-on and initial RSUs, I don't know how one can make easy $300k. Both of them are practically non-existent with CSEO offers.

This is L60-L61 lowball offer. The level can’t be senior because senior base salary range can’t be below $130k. Maybe not even below $140k
I received the same offer too. I even know what recruiter this might be. This is dead end. Besides, he is doomed, Even if he gets 400k TC. Everyone who works for or near BAG knows what kind of work culture it represents.
This is not a software engineering offer. You are being offered some service engineer or customer support role
