What really happens behind the scene when a recruiter asks you to wait for a couple of weeks as they are working with comp and hr team for offer approval? Microsoft 63 initial offer 175k + 160k stocks over 4 years Current L5 Amazon 290k I countered to match my current numbers.
Nothing
Recruiting team will convey this to HM, HM will anyway has 2 other candidates in pipeline and will ask them to drop your candidature
After my initial call, the recruiter reached out to me with updated numbers. I countered again and then recruiter reached out again with new numbers saying she is waiting for approval. So looks like the HM has already approved?
Yes looks like it but approval took like a week for me but this was like 5 years ago
After recruiter and HM decide on level and proposed offer, recruiter approves it with finance. That can take a week depending upon their investment in the business. If you need to have an offer at a different level the job may be reposted for 10 working days - this is for compliance reasons.
Okay so that means the numbers that the recruiter gave me on the last call have been approved by the HM?
