Microsoft rolled out an offer where the on-hire stock grant is listed at 20k. I asked the recruiter what the vesting schedule for this stock grant is as it was not explicitly mentioned in the offer Letter and the recruiter told me that the entire 20k vests in the first year but she he didn’t seem sure. Is this possible? Have any of you been given a stock grant of this kind?
Yes
4 years , each 25% ... whether its 20k each or 20k over 4 years .... recruiter is the answer
In my case it was 20% over 5 years
What position are you being hired and level?
SDE, L60. I’d told the recruiter that this stock grant was nothing close to what I’d accept to which the recruiter replied stating that all the 20k was given to me in the first year post which the annual stock refreshers would kick in. However she wasn’t sure.
That’s a lie. You’re going to get $5K a year over 4 years.
4 years
Too bad you are not a college hire, they get 100 to 150k over 4 years on hire
20k for L60 is a joke. Standard offer is 50k-100k. It’s always over 4 years. The 4 years is not negotiable. The amount is.
Our group gives at least 250k over 5 years for the recently joined L63
There's a long way between level 60 and 63. Especially in terms of total comp.
What group do you belong to?
Lol yeah right. So they start at 250k and their first year refresh is what 18k?
This is the on hire grant that vests over 4 years.... 50k grant => 12.5k/year Do you even work here?
I was replying to the claim above of 250k for l63
When I got hired the vesting schedule was in the offer letter. You can ask your recruiter for a revised offer letter with the vesting schedule. That doesn't sound unreasonable.
I’ve asked the recruiter once and didn’t get a definitive response .. I’ve asked the recruiter to confirm things again
