Microsoft products suck big time

I moved to Amazon under 12 months ago as a principal pm & have been using Microsoft word/sharepoint for documentation and absolutely hate it. After using google suite of products for 5+ years its a complete shocker how Microsoft’s office products can be so bad. I loved the smoothness of google docs/cloud where in tons of poeple could collaborate without breaking a sweat. Sharepoint/word is painful & a task that should take one hour ends up taking 2. Why wouldn’t Amazon and other places throw out microsoft products? Sorry microsofties its nothing personal Tax- 560

It’s a familiarity issue, Microsoft products are awesome

Your issue is familiarity. Try sheets vs excel, night and day difference. Google suit has ways to go to catch feature difference. You are right about google docs winning on colaboration, but thats usually niche use case. Most office workers are not design doc writers. So real time collaboration isnt always a priority feature for people.

At amazon almost every doc has multiple collaborators and tons of feedback. Google suite would work awesomely

+1 yeah I’d choose Google docs over some crap like Quip any day

Microsoft offers the complete suite including exchange and Teams. It has the best price values. No need to get Zoom and Slack

I’ve used pivots/macros/formulas on google sheet & have collaborated with multiple people - easy to share/ update/ present. Excel may offer richer features that i don’t need. For anything big data there’s always python/sql so who needs excel

Bruh, have you even used quip, confluence, JAMA, etc? Amazon's internal tools are so god damn painful to use

Lol I swear I haven’t used one microsoft product that I loved. Always felt our products are 2nd grade at best.

Well, Amazon is still on 2019 and is not using O365. So yeah it sucks how Amazon has implemented/limited the options of collaboration. From my previous employer I can tell you that Microsoft products are capable of so much more then what you are able to use within Amazon :)
