For entry level lc2-lc3 roles specifically, it's well known that referrals don't really do much, you get thousands of applications, and the descriptions/requirements are very general so resume ATS scanners wouldn't really have much to work with. So what is being used to go over thousands of resumes? Genuinely curious. #microsoft
+1. I have years of tech experience and always exceed the job requirements for the roles I apply for and never even get a call. The applications will sit in "active" status for weeks to months too. Also been referred to several roles and same thing. Applying for L64-65 roles.
I think they just need to go through 15-20 resumes to get a hire, and the remaining go to auto reject list :)
Microsoft is not that popular as an employer, surely not more popular than faang at least…
Microsoft assigns each candidate a number on a roulette table, winners continue to the next round

I will get to know soon. I submitted for 1 role with a referral and 1 without in microsoft yesterday.
Probably won't hear back from either
Hmm...Last year they had reached out for an engineering manager role and I told them that it's not the right role for me..Post that they Dilly dallied. Let's see - If they reach out, they would get a genuine candidate with a history of great value. Unless the ATS system does auto rejects.
