I signed an offer letter with Microsoft on Friday. I believe I now have to wait for a background check screening before I can get a start date. Does anyone know how long this takes? I’m a us citizen and this is for the Redmond office. I see posts here saying it can vary from a couple days to weeks. The reason I ask is that I have a big vest coming up in mid April. At first, I was thinking that there is no way I can make it in time but at the pace Microsoft is moving, I’m beginning to think it might be possible. Tc: 200
Is Microsoft hiring? How did you get the interview?
Cold applied. Tonnes of listings last I saw
for what role and level
I accepted an offer last week and have been going through the background check process. The good news is that HireRight is absolute garbage. I’ve been following the application along and proactively reaching out and giving them everything they need and it’s still probably going to take 2 weeks. I’ll probably look to start in May and take a few weeks off.
I’m the same here. They finally made progress with the check but it’s still slow slow. I will definitely make my vest now lmao
Yeah, my background check was sent back and they’re now like “Before we move forward with finalizing your start date, kindly be advised that we have a few pre-requisites that we would like to organize from our end to ensure a smooth onboarding process.” What does that even mean?

Delay the info you submit on background check. It should be done in 2 weeks max. You can always ask for mid april date saying some personal reasons
Thanks
