Microsoft to Cisco - yes or no?

MS boomerang (3 years back), level 64 with TC 250 which includes $200k base. Cisco recruiter reached out for 2 jobs - Level 13 and Level 14. Both would be a “Director” title with Level 13 base being 70k more max, Level 14 base being 100k more max. Recruiter also seemed keen to be open to offering me more. What is Cisco like from culture pov and benefits compared to MS? Is Cisco actively hiring for marketing roles? Recruiter said they’re growing. I eventually want to get to 65 and earn more salary. But that won’t be for a few years. #microsoft #Cisco

Cisco is not very relevant anymore. They have a culture of firing a whole bunch of people every august and it sucks. MSFT way better. Cisco was done the day John chambers left.

> Cisco was done the day John chambers left. To put some numbers behind this statement, Cisco is up about 80% since then. About inline with the S&P500. Over the same duration at the end of Chambers’ tenure in charge, Cisco was up about 18%. If you go back further, than obviously Cisco were in its heyday under Chambers. But he also had the tailwinds of a booming internet.

Trust me they will find every way possible for you to not make it to 65 in here 😂, I am 64.

Exactly this!!

Cisco didn't over hire/fire for the last 2 years ... most org had backfills or critical role. Join if it's a decent bump and a good growing org.
