Amazon is 1.6T market cap Microsoft is 2.3T market cap The difference in market cap is pretty surprising considering I feel Amazon has larger impact on the overall economy. Microsoft is kinda 2nd rate any industry and product line I look. I can’t even think of anything it’s #1 in. How did Microsoft obtain such a high market cap?
Look at the P/E ratio
I guess the low margin business of fulfillment and front line e-commerce holding Amazon back?
Amazon's refusal to stock split is also hurting the stock's perception among investors.

1. Aws cloud is already pretty much mature. Azure is growing, and a lot of companies have non-Amazon polices like they don’t want to contribute directly to amazon revenue (example Walmart). This gives azure a huge potential revenue source as a 2nd cloud or multi cloud option. 2. Sticky cash cows - office, windows, teams business lines 3. Acquisitions - LinkedIn, GitHub etc 4. Push into healthcare 5. Xbox, cloud based gaming, 6. Halo lens, meta verse BS 7. Positive public perception compared to rest of FAANG
So AWS is still growing and I think Azure grew only slightly faster despite being far smaller. I like your acquisitions and sector expansion explanations though. Meanwhile Amazon been making acquisitions like Whole Foods, which is low margin shit. They also been experimenting with physical stores like Amazon Go, also low margin shit. I think Microsoft has done the right thing with the way it spent their money
I think new business lines at Amazon like Amazon Cares and the starlink competitor should help the stock.
Amazon cares could easily be the de facto pharmacy of America. Now starlink competitor. Meh. Doubtful it’ll make much profit. But who knows viasat makes a decent amount
Being number 2 in a lot of things still generate revenue. I doubt AWS will still be a leader in cloud after few years.
Amazon is number 1 in few industries, only one of which (AWS) is profitable and high margin. Microsoft is number 2 in several industries, all of them being profitable, all of them being high margin, no threat to MSFT's number 2 position.
Microsoft being no .1 in few industries as well- example GitHub.
Boi you have no idea about msft..
It’s a cash printing machine
Microsoft had $20.5B net income this past quarter, Amazon had $3.1B.
Yet Amazon crushes Microsoft in revenue. Literally doubled it. Net income doesn’t mean much until you break it down. Amazon likely reinvesting into the business. If the expenses that are driving that lower income are temporary Amazon is in a better position.
Microsoft just announced it's spending $68B reinvesting into its business, but if all you care about is revenue then AMZN's revenue increased 15% while MSFT's increased 22% this past quarter. Amazon's non-AWS businesses are incredibly low margin, Microsoft's non-Azure businesses are not.

The end of Backdoor Roth?!
Microsoft didn’t/doesn’t have Jeff Bezos and his leadership principles.
Amazon doesn't have Jeff Bezos either. Stop using internet explorer.
