$10 million is the new $1 million
I am currently a vp in liquidity risk for a foreign bank. I just passed cfa level 1 and am sitting for level 2 in Feb 2022. I really hope to move into first year associate. Going to MBA is not an option as I have family already.#sellside #ib #interview
What does GTFO mean?
It means Get the f**k out.
What is your question? You want to make a move internally or move to a different bank?
You may have a chance going to boutique or MM. Being VP makes it harder. Also, it really depends on which 'foreign bank' and your background.
I am in defferent on moving internal or external. I have background in liquidity risk and know capital and liquidity of bank well. I am thinking to try to make a move to FIG IB
If this foreign bank is SG, get your manager to recommend you and they will almost for sure throw you in as analyst III. I probably wouldn't recommend the move...
Can you refer me to jpmorgan ib associate program 2022
Most likely youāll have to do an MBA bruh. Can do part time but if not just net work internally and realize u may have to come in as an associate in IB. Will be very hard to just lateral
Doesn't want to do MBA because has no time with family...wants to move to IB.

Wow IB associate with a family ? Sounds tough man Breaking into IB is not something you can really do if you already have a family- you will be at a severe disadvantageā¦ working 100 hour weeks is a reality for most.
Very difficult - I would say get an MBA if you are completely serious or become a corporate finance expert and build relationships with IB VPs and heads
Not trying to be hard on you. But realistically to become an associate you need 1. IB analyst experience or 2. An MBA. Being a VP in liquidity doesnāt necessarily prepare you to pass the analyst stage of intensive modeling and PowerPoint formatting. As an associate, you are responsible to check the work of the analysts below you. So without having that experience, itās unlikely to skip the analyst stage without an MBA.
