I have about 10+ years of experience in Cyber Security space, and primarily in Application Security. Currently, I am an Australian Citizen and planning to move to the US on E3 Visa. May I know how do I find E3 sponsors, also what compensation can I expect initially in the US ? #Cybersecurity#AustralianCitizen#E3Visa
I’m an Aussie who started on an E3. Honestly it’s super easy for the company and most know of it. I think your biggest challenge is getting them to take you seriously that you’re willing to move. A lot easier once you’re here
Can you please share some inputs on how to find a genuine E3 sponsor ?
I just applied for jobs and mentioned it
Isnt he/she going to take a job from an american? Lets see what Trumplinders have to say🤬
God save them
Just kidding man, you will be ok if you are a white. Hatred is against non whites who are street smart.
I reckon there must be thousands of people already in US working on E3
E3 is the best visa for foreign workers in the US. It's fast and easy for the employee and employer. Any company that hires people needing a visa will take someone who can get E3. Many big companies recruit directly in the Australian market for relocation to the US. Both Amazon and Microsoft do this.
Can you please share some inputs on how to find a genuine E3 sponsor ?
They might have changed salary requirements for E-3 holders as well, so you might need to look into that. It’s the same as the new H1B salaries in case you’ve been following the news.
I think E-3 uses LCA like what H1B does, and LCA wages are being changed. So regardless of treaty or not it doesn’t matter.
Interesting, but from what I know as long as they use the nation wide figure it'll be fine, if they don't pay the money people will definitely stay in Australia, which pays the same as Canada. The actual rub is the new rule that says a degree is *always* requires for a position. Which is a problem for SWE and seems pretty targeted.
Let me know how it goes applying OP. Am wondering the same thing.
I’m Australian on E3, personally I moved internally
I moved a couple of years ago on an E3 with 10+yoe. I was able to get an interview with Google just by applying on their website. I'd definitely just try applying to all of the big names. Actually, I ended up coming over through triplebyte.com, so that is another option. I'm in the Bay Area. My thought is that if I was going to pack up and move half way across the world it may as well be to the biggest hub. It may be slightly more difficult at the moment due to the US embassies being shut or only taking emergency visas. Your first E3 should really be done in Australia. However, it also takes a long time to interview and get everything sorted. It took about 4 months for me from interviews to actually starting. Check out the whirlpool.net.au E3 thread, it has lots of information on the process. The pay here is definitely nicer. You need to be careful with the cost of living, but in our case I think it worked out in our favor. Single-income family with kids. Though quality of life here is slightly less. However, part of that is choice - you can definitely choose a better QoL depending on how much you want to spend/save..
Thanks for sharing your experience and information. That helps!!
Do new h1b rules apply to e3 as well?

US hates folks on visa, atleast that is the current sentiment.
I don’t find this the case. At least not for an Aussie on an E-3 visa in the USA.
Strange..then why would they issue visa when they don't want to hire on the same 🤔
