Minimum yoe for Google T4?
I have 1 yoe at Amazon and getting promoted to SDE-2 soon. Google HC approved me for T3. Since I'll require a H1B Visa, my earliest start date will be Oct 31st. I feel like my 2 yoe at Amazon by the time I start at Google will be a waste if I have to re-start with new grads. Should I reinterview for T4 a year later? Or will Google down level me to T3 with 2 yoe as well?

Your 2 yoe at Amazon is a waste anyway. 😂😂 Most of the L3s here are better than SDE2s at Amazon (I am ex-Amazonian).

Don't worry, Google hires and levels conservatively and it's a good thing. Look at it this way - I joined Amazon right out of college. 1 year to 14 months later I was working my ass off for promotion and people I knew from college (same class as me) were hired as sde2s. And these were the same people who couldn't clear new grad interview 12 months ago and some of them very mediocre (I worked with them on class projects). It compromises the hiring bar for entire company, it's just like cancer.
I got an L4 offer from G. 3 year and 3 months YOE after master’s. I interned at G for 4 months when I was in college so I’m not sure if that helped.
I recently got L4 with 3.5 years of experience. No internships, and working in Amazon for the last 7 months.
Similar situation. I was hired at L3 after spending 2 years at Twitter after my Master's.
I never understood these levels work. T3 means new grad-2 YOE, T4 is 2-4 YOE and so on? How does that compare to the levels at FB and MSFT?

I’d say 4-5 YOE minimum for an external hire. But you can promote internally much faster, like in 1.5-2 years.
