Have an upcoming software engineer interview. Would be great if you can share your experience and/or help out with a few things over dm! #miro #amsterdam
I remember being interviewed with tons of Russian people, getting a feedback that was flat out wrong (checked with others later as I was shocked) and surprise, no offer. They seem to have their preferences to say the least.
I interviewed and they use negotiation tactics that are red flags at least for me (and I've heard others have similar experiences). They set expectations at a specific level and then when you finish all the interviews say you performed great but they won't give you the level you were interviewing for. Then they give you some spiel about how they aren't paying you for your skills and your skills can be higher but they want to pay you for less. It's very weird for a recruiter to give you a lower offer than initially discussed and then say you should be greatful because their options will be worth a lot maybe in a few years 😂. Just say you can't afford me.
Is Arjun your recruiter?
Do you know the rank in Miro? Engineer < Senior < Lead?
The worst experience ever. I’ve applied on the staff engineering role. Had phone call twice with HR manager, on the both calls she asked me to move on Senior role instead of staff for no reason (currently i’m on staff engineering role in big tech, and had several offers on staff role as well). She also was very unresponsive, had many mistakes in interview scheduling and literally ignored my e-mails by weeks. Then i had design interview round, the task was quite simple and i was sure that i would pass, just because i had similar question in faang company where I’ve successfully passed. Interviewer actually worked there just 2 months, I think it’s not normal to allow people representing company on interviews with so small experience in company. that sad that company with such good product has such bad interview process. Don’t waste your time.

Why I Find Free Palestine Inspiring
Do you speak Russian? If not you're going to have a hard time there. I heard the culture got quite fucked there. People speak in Russian during discussions and they don't switch when asked by other people
This is not my experience at all and I work at Miro. Maybe it varies depending on your team. Everybody in my team is a different nationality.
Thats good to hear then. I hear miro is doing good things. Would be a shame if their culture took a hit.
