Why is there such an emphasis on US and Europe to reduce emissions , while both China and India get a free pass ? I have been to both China and India and there’s not a day where the air quality is good. Why can’t we force those 3rd world countries to fix first ? They seem to be the real culprits, just based on their city’s air quality
Nice bait
The US and EU have much more control over their own actions than they do over China & India's actions. How would you force them?
Really are you saying that Indian autos/industries don’t emit as much C02 ? It’s just not C02 it’s also spot from vehicles
China is actively investing in public transit to discourage driving the us is…not. we’ve just got ol musky trying to sell us bad subways.
Stop CCP propaganda
Because telling poor people in poor country to use less will result in fuck off instead of feeling shameful? Seriously only US and the wealthy nations could afford it and politicians make money off this.
But why do they get a pass ? Why not tax them for carbon ?
Because a lot of the emissions is from the industrial output export to US and other wealthy nations, so it will be just like taxing US and other wealthy nations.
Because historical co2 emissions matter and the us has emitted double the co2 of China and Europe .. that's still in the atmosphere and is more significant than current co2 emissions the United States has emitted more CO2 than any other country to date: at around 400 billion tonnes since 1751, it is responsible for 25% of historical emissions; this is twice more than China – the world’s second largest national contributor;
It’s like saying countries need to pay for the sins they committed 400 years ago. What about the prehistoric and medieval who burnt wood ?
Not really, you can only fine someone with money to pay. Try fining homeless will not result in much deterrence.
