Modeling in H1B

anyone did or doing modeling while on H1B? if we do so will there be any legal or immigration issues? i am thinking to schedule an immigration attorney consultation as well but thought of checking with fellow blinders on their thoughts. btw, my husband is also in H1B with approved I140. i also have seperate approved I140. some of my friends even suggested to go on H4 and apply for H4 EAD with that i can work and do modelling. any thoughts? TIA current location : charlotte TC: 140

If your H1B job description doesn’t have modeling in it, then no. You’re not allowed to do it. Having a H4 EAD would solve your legality problem. But you would have to first change status (3 months because H4 aren’t allowed to do premium processing) and then apply for a EAD. Which takes 9 months. It’s a year of processing time in total. And you can’t work while it is being done.

If you have prior modeling experience and you can obtain reference letters, you might want to apply for a concurrent part-time H1B. It’s less common, but technically H1B holder are allowed to have multiple jobs given that they all meet the H1B requirements and they were all approved by the USCIS.

1- your friends are right 2- if modeling agency is ready to sponsor you then you can retain your H1b file for PP then make a move (former become a full time body builder / trainer) 3- BTW does Wells hires H1b ?

Yes wells do hire H1B but you have go through known strong connections. Applying in wells careers site won’t work.

H4 EAD is the safest way and probably the only one
