Going by how Modi is inciting hate against Muslims in his recent speeches and the way hate is being promoted in the mainstream media, is India on a path of no turning back?

Yes! Even if by some miracle government changes in next 10 years, bigotry among people won’t go away. All these people defending the speech have no understanding of democracy, election codes, and disasters of disinformation. They haven’t even seen the full clip of what former PM had said. Moreover, even if that was the case, people are so blinded that they can’t figure out how and why Modi is talking about all these things after being in power for 10 years rather than talking about his economic, social and infrastructure development because there isn’t any.
India reached rank 5 in terms of GDP and aiming to reach rank 3 without any economic and infra development. Meanwhile the peaceful ones opposing triple talaq, uniform civil code, burqa ban and advocating sharia talk of democracy.
Of course there's no comparision between Scamgress and BJP in terms of performance But voting happens not on these facts. You know what happened to Atalji when he asked for votes with India shining campaign BJP are not fools to repeat same mistake Scamgress will be annihilated

A large bucket of bjp supporters genuinely think bjp is not anti Muslim and the usual hate is just sporadic. They do not equate pro Hindu as anti Muslim. The fact that in order to trap congress Modi simply blanket declared Muslims as infiltrators and what not pretty much now pushes everyone of those folks to pretension here onward. This is institutional of bjp and RSS. That’s it. Common folks who were anti Muslim / Christian anyway they will continue with useless points .. like some here above. Which I think is fine. In face of weak opposition and completely sold out media there is no effective control mechanism on bjp. BJP did nothing which was not predictable before 2014 - basically communally keep the pot boiling. When the media or the opposition plays their dutiful role in a democracy India will always come back. So it looks low now and for all good reasons .. the cycle shall end is my belief. :)
BJP is not anti muslims in the same way muslims are not anti BJP and anti democracy.
At least we agree bjp is anti Muslim . There is a major flux with bjp supporters ( excluding up / mp) about this . I think it’s better to be an anti political party vs anti people of a certain religion. But again debatable. Depends how one’s mindset is. Which I think is fine. We cannot be forced to like something. Also I feel you simply added anti democracy like a little salt swad anusar. That’s ok too 😏
