Moms and EPO vs PPO

I have a qualifying life event and am electing new insurance. I’m expecting this year and am not sure if I should go on EPO or PPO. Knowing we have a big year ahead, EPO will cost less but I’m a bit nervous not to have out of network coverage. I’ve never gone out of network and for my last birth, had all in network providers. Has anyone had bad or good experiences with EPO when they had a big year/a lot of expenses? I’m nervous the hospital might give out of network providers for emergencies or the baby. I’m based on NY
