Hi All, I recently got a verbal offer from Morgan Stanley for a VP role as a development manager. I don't have the final compensation numbers yet but the recruiter told me it could 180-205k range in Virginia. My current base is north of 200k so I am curious to know how reasonable would it be to match that. Can people at MS comment? Also, from my interviews, I couldn't get a good sense of role expectations. They said it's a manager job but somehow it felt as if it was a tech lead role. Does anyone know what a VP (Development Manager) is expected to handle at MS? #morganstanley #tc #compensation TC: ~250k
How about a senior manager position for 10 years of experience?
VP development manager is more of a senior software engineer (if no direct reports) or technical lead (if direct reports) generally. It's common to have VPs writing code, infact most VPs write code from what I have seen. This can vary from dept to dept though.
