Recruiter asked me about my salary expectations for a VP role at Morgan Stanley, I don't want to low ball myself. Any suggestions?
5 millions, not a penny less.

In technology, 160-200 base , 40-100K bonus.
How did you get those figures ?
Everyone is a VP in finance, don’t expect too much
I know how it works in finance. Just wanted to get a number to throw it out there
Median population levels at VP because there are only 5 levels. Otherwise you can create a hierarchy of 69 levels that just means an endless number of stairs. At Hedge Funds there are only 2 levels, MD and non-MD. VP just implies you have been around the block (financial) for more than 5-6 years at a stretch and seen some projects through. Also if hiring from tech they will assign you a VP title even if you have 20 years you won’t be a Managing Director or even Director.
But seriously, think about it. Someone asking you how much you wanna make? Who does not wanna make millions ? I think is a stupid question and stupid questions deserve stupid answers.
Kindly please help me understand what to expect from interview. I am scheduled for 1st telephonic interview and was told by recruiter that following rounds will be remote with Corona Virus issue. I have 11+ YOE and C++ developer. Also please provide insights on salary expectations. Thank You. This position is based in NYC for client connectivity services team.
So I had my 1st round of telephonic discussion on 16th. Interviewer was in great hurry. Asked me LRU implementation. There was a bit of confusion and I tried to explain saying give me a minute, I will write a psuedo code and explain. She said we have only 7 mins remaining. We spoke further on problem .I wonder why ask a coding question when it is not a code pair. Also I know MS is notorious for not getting back. Any insight on it is much appreciated.
$350k
