So, most boses make decisions without thinking through? Sounds about right
😂🤣
Fair words
They see attrition on the manger level of people (IC) they would prefer stay. Bosses aren’t necessarily executives/s team making the decisions.
They want everyone else rto but themselves
So they took the advice of Envoy, a company that relies on RTO for their biz operations?
Envoy helps w hybrid situations no? So yea that sounds correct their customers relied on their input and don’t like the outcome of mandating RTO

Employees forced back work less....just as a payback. Silent resignation some call it
It’s called quiet quitting. Lots of folks are doing it.
So it's true, we're not just imagining...I see it so much lately its getting sad
Sure Jan
It's more of "our commercial investments are suffering. Get everyone back in here now to make it the way it was before!" Then they realized they went back on their word and everything they spewed to make a point to get everyone back in office didn't line up.
This is it. All the pro-RTO “data” was really about those multi-year leases they couldn’t justify when investors went back on their word and came calling for profits sooner. Unfortunately for them, not only did we know it was bullshit, but everyone knew by then that we could work, and work better, from home. So the RTO actual effect was a sinker. Shocking.
Its FOMO. Bosses want to implement RTO as everyone else is doing it.
So many leaders look at other companies and think “That company knows what they’re doing, let’s copy them.” They ignore that lots of people don’t know wtf they’re doing or ignore the fact that context varies, or they don’t know the underlying thinking or approach of that company and whether it aligns with their own, and so on.

Amazon the hardest FAAMG to get passed the 1st stage for software engineers?
Yea they had no data to back that up just boomer micro manager gut feelings and children that graduated college who need to learn how to initiate convos via dm. The kids that complained about seniors not coddling them don’t realize it wouldn’t have happened in person either. The micro managers think they need to see clock ins when all you need is deadlines and delivery.
This^^. Everyone wants to be “data driven” but data only says what happened. Most of the “data” said to gather your team for a purpose on-site and allow them to take that productivity boost home. But that was hypothetical because few companies wanted to do it. They failed to grasp: Good leaders will lead regardless of location; while shitty managers will be shitty in-person or remote.
