I would love the experience of working on a two-sided marketplace, but I am uncomfortable with how a number of the players in that space treat gig works. Anyone perceived some gig work companies as more ethical and truly better to employees? #instacart #doordash #uber #lyft
I want to see you make the same post when u get 500k Uber offer Also TC or GTFO
Getting high tc isn’t everyone’s end goal, otherwise I’d be at Amazon rn… some people value other things like culture, wlb or values
Gig work needs to end. None of it is ethical. Predatory on all sides.
Gig work needs to be conducted by government.. because the idea of connecting unemployed or underemployed talent with people in need of the talent isn’t bad. It becomes bad when the governing body is a $10b company
I understand completely, two sided marketplaces are interesting products but often exploitative businesses. I know one early stage startup doing this not quite for gig work but for skilled practitioners/small businesses in a specific niche, who sell to consumers through the app. Because of the niche there’s a bigger incentive to treat these businesses fairly, and the core team is aligned on avoiding the problems with Uber, Lyft, etc. Think you need to look beyond gig work companies, especially big names, and look for smaller two sided marketplaces/platform businesses.
Uff. So much virtue signaling
He's mad he works for boomer bank and doesn't get RSU, or treated like proper swe at C1
