Bringing this out of the Amazon channel to reduce selection bias. Made it a poll because data. Do you find Slack challenging to use? If so, please mention your specific frustrations in a comment below. One callout we've had is that notifications disappear too quickly and it's difficult to find threads or DMs where you need to respond. Also if you've ever had the privilege of using Amazon Chime, please describe why you think it's better than Slack (or not). Edit: TC 400k
I liked the way how OP blamed Slack and not Chime in all of the options I used CHIME meeting for Amazon interview I guess… felt like a ripoff
I love slack. I don’t think there’s anything better for asynchronous work
Microsoft teams
Chime is 💩
Teams can f*ck off as well 😁
Where is our precious teams banana boy
I also like Teams tbf
Well I hate Ms products, unfortunately employed there fr the past year
I'm just here wondering who finds Slack difficult and why/how exactly (serious question, not trying to be a dink) I just leave the "unread" view open all day on my one monitor and have no problems
An L7 SDM posted in the Amazon channel that they prefer Chime because they can't find all of their Slack mentions and DMs in one place. Then doubled down arguing when several different people told them where to find everything in Slack. So I thought maybe Amazonians (who generally hate Chime like the toddler-fueled turd bonfire it is) might be giving an unfair take, and thought I'd expand the question to people who have less reason to hate Amazon Chime. Because maybe Chime isn't as terrible as I've come to believe while working at Amazon. And it looks like there are no Chime fans out here either, until maybe this SDM eventually votes for it. Which would still be a tiny fraction of the people who find Slack at least usable. But this summary might also be unfair, so I'm open to clarification 🤷♂️
Ahh ok I wasn't clear on that this is based on one person loudly disagreeing when told how to better find stuff 😂😂 I thought "one callout" was more "this is one thing a number of people are saying" I know some people who are super busy can take awhile to get to stuff where they're just tagged, but I've also had 0 problems reaching out to them directly when that's the case. DMs are pretty hard to miss but sounds like this person disagrees with that too haha
Chime is the biggest pile of garbage ever. Messaging on it sucks. Meetings on it are fine, but Outlook integration is terrible and the fact that forwarded meetings don’t contain auto-dial bewilders me. It seems like a half-assed solution to a non-existent problem.

My team stopped using chime and moved to Slack when I left over a year ago. Even Amazon knows it sucks.
How about google workplace ? I love teams tho 😝
