Motive /keep trucking outlook
Can someone at motive or anyone provide insights on future of motive? They’ve been around since 2013 and are valued at 3B , but they did huge layoffs few months ago. Is samsara a competitor? Can they get acquired or go ipo in few years? I’m in final stages of interview but I didn’t like compensation structure.
Motive has an entire page of their website devoted to fake stats and case studies about Samsara lol. So they def spend a lot of time thinking about Samsara. All I’d say is if you work at Samsara, Motive will def want to hire you. If you work at Motive, Samsara probably won’t hire you. #levels
Avoid at any cost. C execs leaving. Smart people left didn’t believe in leadership. Leadership sucks. Work life balance is horrible. Everyone is burnt out. No more bonus and very few promotions.
Motive is the worst company. They don’t value your time. I went to there final rounds and left them because the C level people constantly kept doing no shows for the meeting. I am talking about a senior role. Also few folks I talked there came 15-20 min late and were very disrespectful. I will say stay away from Motive
Samsara is definitely one of their major competitors and we have pretty similar products. Not sure what their runway looks like from a financing standpoint but my guess is that they aren’t profitable yet and need to either scale up or find additional investment with an IPO or through VCs soonish.
Thanks, how’s samsara? Do they pay well ? is an acquisition on horizon , founder sold meraki to Cisco for a good deal
Pretty unlikely we are going to go for an acquisition, at least in the short term. Pay if you join now will be a bit worse than some of the major FANGs but still competitive. WLB is decent but is highly team dependent.
