I’ve had this burning urge over the last 2 years to leave the tech/Ad Sales side of the business (which I’ve been in for 6 years) and move to a more people-Operations based role. I’m far too conversational and feel like my best attributes would be better suited for a recruiting position in my area. Has anyone here made that switch and how desirable is it to a hiring manager for a recruiter or HR role to have someone with experience in the field they would be hiring for?

I know folks who have a) switched and b) switched to a PM role within HR at a larger company. I believe it is desirable because you have real world experience in the area you’re recruiting for and can speak to it better
