Moving to Austin for a new job with my wife. Planning to rent a 2bd 2bt apartment (~ $1800 a month) Is $140k TC good enough to live in Austin?
That's Seattle price , is it a luxury apartment?
I’d say above average not super luxurious
This is actually super affordable for Austin! Usually 2b2b is like $2100/2400+
Yeah, you'll be fine
Which area is the apartment in?
North Austin
Yeah, you’ll be fine with 140k
You be super fine and if ur frugal u can save a bit .. good luck my friend.. may new year bring u peace and happiness
Thank you 🙏🏻
You’ll be fine, I pay $1600 a month here. Austin is so boring you wont spend any money
Are u Desi .. ??
Nah, I’m East Asian lol
$140K with an apartment for $1800 is great! You’ll be able to enjoy experiences in Austin for sure.
It's definitely doable. Make sure you've got an extra large emergency fund to help with the transition.
I live in Austin as our sole income with 4 kids w/ 144k TC (not counting stock). My mortgage is $2400, you’ll be fine lol.
