Hi all, I have a possibility to join Ansys or GM. GM is a CAE simulation engineer role -7c Ansys is a Product Manager role 8 years experience I believe TC at Ansys might be 20K more compared to what GM might offer. Is moving to Ansys good from a career standpoint? Just want to make decent money and stay in the auto industry as I love what I do. Blind Tax: 105K
Can you WFH at Ansys?
GM is michigan. Ansys not sure maybe Pittsburgh, Michigan or remote. not entirely sure
If the job at Ansys is remote, I'd say go with it. That's worth a lot more than can be quantified IMO.
Depends on what you want to do and not short term TC decisions. These are two very different career paths. Product management is for you if you like developing more on soft, people skills in addition to technology. Cae simulation engineer, if you like the depth in one discipline. Former could open up PM roles anywhere, but might not be for every engineer. Good luck.
Yea I’m looking to get away from core cae engineering and lead a product or project. So inclined towards Ansys. But not sure if it will be an easy switch to other industries - longer term. I assume PM skills are transferrable to other sectors
Could you share your GM offer details?
