Sister got an opportunity to relocate to Poland (Warsaw) from Bangalore. (Internal company transfer) with family. Pretty long term contract. She makes 50 lpa in Bangalore and husband makes 50 lpa. Polish salary equivalent of 8k euros per month. Husband would have to look for work. 2 kids. 7 and 5. Should they do they move? What are pros and cons of moving ?
After tax that would be a lot less. If travelling around Europe is the goal I would say yes but if saving is better ROI is goal stay in India.
Europe is a traveler’s delight ! If you love travel, worth exploring. Financially it’s not going to be beneficial with those numbers
They can just take one month vacation in Europe staying on Bangalore salary and still have more saving by staying put in Bangalore
It's not even an upward movement for 1, let alone going there as a family, unless the husband also gets an equivalent opportunity there.
With kids in tow ? What about their schools? And what if assignment ends in 2 years ?! Move the kids schools back to India again ? Might as well visit Poland as a tourist if want to see overseas
I had the exact same reaction.
Not sure about inclusion in Poland
It's good, especially in warsaw
Right. Inclusion at work is one thing, but inclusion for their kids in a Polish public school would be a completely different thing.
It's not a great move.
Poland is not that great to take a pay cut and move.
Cisco ?
You'll never feel at home in Poland. Or even welcome.
Isn’t there an Indian community there ?
There's an even larger Polish community.
