Are there problems if you move back to your country of origin if you have a green card? I'm talking about not abandoning your GC and vising every 6 months to maintain status. Any potential double taxation issues etc? TC 105k
You need to stay in the country for at least 6 months a year. Your primary residence does not count. You may be able to get away, but USCIS has systems to flag GC holders based on how long they stay outside the country - they use computers, you know -
Fuck me... Guess I'll move back after getting the passport
This would be smarter .... once you have passport you can live where ever you want and come back when ever you want!
No need stay there.. Lol
I think there's a provision if you move within the same multinational corporation. My boss with a previous company took up a leadership role at an international location within the company and he was on GC. He lived outside the US for 4 years and came back to US. This was in 2014.
You can’t just be visiting, you need to maintain primary residence in US. Otherwise they will revoke your GC
Well I have a house and all so would that count as primary residence if I don't rent it out? 😁
That’s not enough, you need to be actually living in that house. Don’t be surprised if you’re declined entry to US and GC cancelled without right to appeal.
