Moving from Seattle to NYC
People who moved from Seattle to NYC, could you please share your experience? Do you regret it? How do these cities compare, pros/cons? I am in tech like 99% of you here, so money is not the main factor for me. P.S. guys, could you post details and not just "great city"?
I'm doing this on Wednesday I'll let you know. My guess is that it's gonna suck but we shall see

Sure, what specifically are you trying to find out? Was mostly joking because it's not really comparable. NYC is 10x (literally) the population and has more of everything.
Not moved yet but considering moving to NY in the next year or two. Been here a decade. Seattle is a cute small city that’s great to visit during summer but after a while it just feels so limiting compared to SF Bay Area or NY.
New York is DRAMATICALLY more expensive. Expect 350% of the cost of living in Seattle
Where are these 350% coming from? Studio downtown Seattle is 1.8-2K which I believe is similar in Manhattan.

Interesting responses- colder winters, less access to nature and hiking, far more expensive housing, transportation etc ... Despite this, it's fascinating that people would want to move there from Seattle...
