Moving from agency to in house? Marketing

I know there aren't a lot of marketers on here, bit I'm wondering if anyone has advice on how to move from an agency to in house? I have 4.5 YOE and haven't gotten anything past phone screenings when applying to anything with more than 100k TC. Feeling frustrated. Me: NYC, TC 75K, 4.5 YOE

It’s a tough bridge to cross. Somehow agencies do more work but it’s very hard to go into the client side. Mostly because agencies focus on tactics and buzzwords while the clients are more strategic and holistic. Also i feel like clients tend to have more conservative cultures so school names, etc. matters. I don’t know what your title is but make sure you target the right level too. You can be an associate director at an agency but sometimes the qualifications can barely meet a manager position. Agencies have inflated title system feeding the ego of employees. Good luck.

Amazing reply. You're exactly right about the agency titles. I'm sitting at Strategist/Senior Manager. Will certainly be more conservative in my search for in house when it comes to title.
