I did MS in Industrial Engg and I did a bit of stat courses. I am good in programming and Math. If I start my career in Data Science will I be behind from peers in terms of knowledge? What to do to enter in Data science field?
Operations research here. I’d say optimization + machine learning + stats is a really good combination for data scientist.
Dude.....learn network security. You'll be sitting on a gold mine.

I know an MS Industrial engineering graduate who is a Research Scientist at Amazon. I'd say you are only constrained by your capacity to learn and come up to speed with your peers doing Data Science. Industrial Engineering is similar in content to applied math/stat programs so getting into Data Science should not be a big deal.
