You gotta apply for permanent residency, or you gotta get a job and have your company apply for your work permit. Not easy but if you have the right skills and qualifications, it could be
Any insights on which companies are willing to apply for work permits?

In reality very few companies actually sponsors the global skills visa. Only the likes of amazon and google do it. You need extensive documentation to prove your aren’t displacing a Canadian. It’s really only feasible for inter company transfers in large FAANG like companies. Smaller companies most often don’t bother.

How bad is it in meta?
Depends. Assuming you’ve a Pr you can go easily, quarantine and stay there. For a job you need SIN. If you’ve it you can start working from day 1 or else you’ll have to get that first.
What is an SIN?
It’s akin to SSN in the USA.
