I joined Nvidia as ML engineer role, but after 1.5 years I have realized my team is not ready for productive ML work (highly ambitious problems that requires a good ML team ) and now I am doing mostly software work. Its a high visibility work and lot of learning will be there from software engineering/Algorithmic point of view. Also Nvidia pays a lot. I have also some offers for DL and Data scientist roles (MLE roles). One of the offer is from E-commerce where work will be mostly related to NLP solving business related problems. Other interviews are in process, but I need to decide whether it is right to resign(deadline is there) and come back to ML(which is again not sure, depends on peer group and problem statements) or stay in Nvidia. Although I can say that It won't be high visibility work. Currently I am improving engineering skills also. So from a career growth which is better, stay in Nvidia and forget about doing ML work because it will be difficult to get ML roles in future or switch to ML based company and see if work is good or not. I am also keeping in mind about spending some time in US to explore and I know Nvidia is not L1 visa friendly company(strict HR rules for international transfer). Please help in clearing thoughts. Current TC : 28 LPA INR + stocks (stock appreciation will make the TC unbeatable) New offer : 66 LPA INR (including everything) Location : Bangalore YOE : 4.5 P.S. : People who are replying please put atleast one liner to know the reason. #tech #FAANG #amazon #nvidia #ML #walmart #microsoft #meta #google #sharechat
Applied Scientist roles are not that bad in amazon.
What exactly is the question here? If there are 2 options make it a poll.
Question : which is better for career growth(taking leadership roles) in future. Software Eng. space or ML space ? Also added the pole. Thanks
