I interviewed at 3 places and recieved three offers. Wondering Which one I should take. COMPANY | LOCATION | COMP | LEVEL | ------------------------------------------------------------------ MSFT | Seattle | 210k | SDE II | ------------------------------------------------------------------ Amazon | Sunnyville | 260k | SDE I | ------------------------------------------------------------------ Bloomberg| NYC | 250k | SDE I | ------------------------------------------------------------------- In terms of work I think the microsoft team is the most interesting but I feel life in new york city would be more interesting. . Amazon team is cool too but i also fear PIP YOE: 8 Months TC: 140k

Can you get better offers? All of those are pretty bad. Don't go to Bloomberg it's terrible.
why is it terrible? I have less than a year of expirence I thought these offers were good
Not everyone is chasing tc, chasing_tc.
I think base salary should factor into your consideration.
I feel like that’s almost irrational. Larry Page doesn’t have a base salary at all. If you look at comp as the YOY change in net worth, Larry got an immense raise, easily keeping pace with inflation.
Cash you can spend right now and doesn't change significantly in value. Stock you can't spend until you stell it. Is a tax liability and can completely change in value over short windows. Which one is better depends on your immediate needs and wants.
I would pick Microsoft or Amazon over Bloomberg at early stage in my career.
you think i could get meta E5 after 4 years at microsoft?
Possible if you do well enough in interviews
Amazon is changing the pay bands in April, which should bring your TC in the 300k range.
but are they changing their culture?
More pip less dip
Which team in Microsoft?
AKS org :)
I think work should be interesting in AKS, should have decent amount of challenging problems.
Awesome offers - congrats! I’d say go Amazon if you’re confident in your abilities + nyc is a great place to live
I am confident in abilites but not a huge fan of amazon location. How is uber? I was thinking of trying for them next go around as SDE II at uber salary $$$
Ah didn’t notice the location for Amazon. In that case it really depends on what you want, toss up between Msft and Amazon - I think you’d learn more at Amazon fwiw. Uber is fine - lots of opportunities but has a chiller vibe than Amazon
Congrats and I do appreciate the tabular TC format much easier to read.
thank you some of these posts are an info dump so i figured a table could be helpful
how the heck Bloomberg is paying 250k for less than 1 YOE. I believe they pay around 180k for new grads
amazon offer really helped in negotiations
Market dynamics have changed. It’s hard to be competitive
I’m curious how you weren’t considered a new grad with your YOE
essentially my expirence is crazy 8 months only but 80 hour weeks working on crazy projects. I grew a lot as a result interviewers at ms thought so as well
also you cant be a new grad if you never got a degree
YOE? Levels offered?
levels offered in the post Amazon L4, bloomberg SDE I , microsoft L61 or SDE II
What’s your split of msft offer? It’s great for 61
