Pursuing a MS Analytics starting next week. Currently have 2+ YOE with heavy Salesforce + Tableau, Excel, little bit of Snowflake SQL. Python and ML used in side projects. Which route would grant best TC in the next 3-5 or 10 years? Currently the SFDC Administrator would grant the best perks, hybrid office, and culture based off reviews I.e. “Best Places to Work,” Glassdoor etc. Based off TC - benefits, unsure out of the 3. TC: <100K (RSUs ⬇️) YOE: 2
Data science seems the best generalist approach. Locking yourself to a specific solution (SF) is a dead-end.
I agree the Data Science would be the best generalist approach. My dilemma is out of my current options (few extras I didn’t list) this one is the most tempting based off the amount of companies using Salesforce + the pay of a SFDC Admin cert. Most my Tableau, SQL etc analysis for projects has been based off SFDC data, and the company has the best office (hybrid), reviews and benefits. Data Scientist roles have been near impossible for me to get a call back from
It’s a balancing act and without seeing the numbers it’s hard to make a decision. At some point you will want to decide whether it’s still worth chasing TC or start coasting with better WLB if you’re satisfied with your current lifestyle. Your question is TC-focused so it seemed like you still wanted a TC upgrade; data science seemed the best option for the future. If you really enjoy SF work then it’s still a valid option.
