I’ve got 3 offers, and need your suggestion on which to pick and reasoning for the same. I also have 2-3 other offers but declined those to keep it between these: Intel G9: 270k- base ~20% target cash bonus (they have APB/QPB) Stock: 250k/3yrs Sign-on bonus - 60k Yr1 - 460k Yr2 onwards - 400k Docusign P5: 220k - base 15% target bonus Stock - 900k/4yrs Sign-on bonus- 20k Yr1 - 498k Yr2 onwards - 478k Amazon L5: Base - 165k Total comp: 365k First 2yrs cash heavy Yr3/4: stock heavy + base salary All are for remote/Seattle area SWE roles. These are final numbers after all negotiation. Leaning towards Intel despite the comp difference due to stability/big-tech over Docusign. In normal market conditions, DOCU would’ve been my pick given higher comp/smaller company size. DOCU stock has been a whirlwind last few months, so worried about it from stability/layoff perspective over the next 1-2yrs. Thoughts? Folks already making higher comps, does a 80-90k difference matter at that point vs stability? Current TC: 250k and will drop by ~30k next year YoE - 8yrs Update: Accepted Intel offer despite higher DOCU offer due to role/team/interesting work. Final numbers: 280k base ~20% APB/QPB bonus 250k stocks/3yrs Sign-on bonus - 65k #intel #docusign #amazon #Microsoft
Congratulations on getting the offers! DocuSign is definitely the more risky choice. Intel offer looks really good plus cash is more important in the current economy so that’s what I would pick. Either way, you’ll be getting a lot better pay than your current, good luck!
Why is tc going to drop? And intel seems like best choice for stability
My current TC drops due to some stock awards expiring.
Take docusign .. great upside in 4 years on those stocks … intel is only safe short term .. AMD and nvidia is gonna eat it .. docusign bottom might be near .. only tradeoff might be layoffs in docusign in short term might happen..
I’d take intel then jump when the market gets better hopefully within next few years
That Amazon offer is a true low ball, although you must admit that some of us on the inside are low balled too. You can tell that from your other offers. It is also hard to get your comp corrected once you are in since they really dont value tenure. So do not feel bad to drop it as an option. I honestly would pick Intel. Just make sure that the stock is being awarded based on last 30d trailing prices
Got downleveled to L5 during interview, and was told this is the beyond max for L5.
Amazon comp is weird. I dont think this is at the top of the band, but I am also in a high cost location. Maybe it is top if you are somewhere else.
Pick Docusign if you are not on H1B
Taken Intel for short term stability but consider if you want to hold on to their stock. As another poster have mentioned, AMD and Nvidia are way, way ahead of Intel so their long term growth is questionable at best.
Intel being HW company offers 270k base? And such a huge TC! Thts great , which role is it? Which BU?
It’s a SWE role. Datacenter division I think.
Thts gr8 offer you got from Intel
Intel
Take intel G9 for stability
