I’ve been following Blind and other forum discussions and I feel that blue states’ voters have started almost hating Elon Musk due to his political views. His support for Republican views and lack of support for Democrats, relocation to Texas, mass firing at Twitter etc have led to a significant loss in his popularity. Interestingly, the high price point of Teslas means that only affluent people can afford them, and blue states have historically been more economically well off compared to red ones. Heck even in red states, urban areas (which lean Democrats) are economic hubs. After all, Tesla’s first set of customers were Bay Area techies. Due to this shift in public sentiment, Tesla sales are hurting big time. People literally try to find Tesla alternatives even though they know that alternatives are not better. What are your thoughts? Do you agree with this reading? @mentioning a couple of Bay Area companies.
You think people buying cars care about this stuff? Tesla had the number 1 selling car worldwide last year, there's no relation between the two. We live in silicon Valley and pay attention to this shit, trust me nobody else gives a fuck
Let's see how 2024 sales go for Tesla.
It's nothing to donwith his reputation lmao you think people in China or anywhere outside of the tech/super political American crowd care There's a lot of other factors as well
Elon is killing his golden goose chasing after twitter There’s no other CEO who’s as publicly facing as him.it is hard to see what he does with an insane amount of time dedicated away from Tesla
well it's like you and me spending time on team blind.
Elon just speaks facts. Snowflake libs cant tolerate the truth. They wanna keep living in their fake little world and hate anyone that disrupts it.
Yeah like rebuilding the bridge by reusing the fallen parts. He’s always on point. Pedo guy too. He acts like trump when he’s wrong.
Looks like you need to lick elons a*s to not get laid off at Tesla
Come on, man. Free speech is hate speech man!! When I was in Scranton we had to deal with corn pop and he was a bad dude, always saying mean things.
Most people don’t have the luxury of choosing worse or more expensive alternatives because they don’t like the CEO of a company. People won’t care if the product is great. So either his antics hurt his ability to hire and retain talent and distract from the day to day which makes the product worse or less innovative or they don’t matter. I’d argue they probably do affect employee retention and morale so they’re having some impact but I doubt they directly impact sales too much
So he's just supposed to become an NPC like everyone in blue states just because your meager investment in Tesla is hurting?
Who cares, other CEOs are also like this and takeover social media sites to boost nazi conspiracies. You going to not buy from those CEOs either?
Most CEO’s maintain politically neutral narrative as much as possible. The moment you lean one side, you alienate the other half. Businesses cannot afford such losses.
Another free-speech-phobia…
Free speech comes with responsibility. The more affluential you are, more responsible you need to be.
Since you were talking about political stance, does being political correct means being responsible? I don’t think so.
Most techies are consumers first and activists second. I'm sure many people hate Musk, but they won't give up their nice shiny Teslas because of it.
Even if 10% customers are turned away, it is still a major loss. Currently, it seems the number of people turned off is way more than 10%.
Yeah Gemini is 100% consumer first💁🏿♂️

What do you think is wrong with a kid who got rejected by 9 colleges?
No I think he’s just applying common sense and a fresh perspective
Doesn't really matter what you think though. He's alienating his buyers. A group known for cancel culture. A group known to boycott companies for lesser offenses. Liberals are his target audience, and he's pissed them off. Right or wrong, he has. They're avoiding Tesla now and going with other options. It's not rocket science to piece it together.
So what are the other options for buying cars for these Liberals? Gasoline cars? LOL
