In new york especially in Long Island I noticed people drive in big ram trucks, bad traffic, drivers always tail gate, there is no neighbors culture where you share food etc and be friends. I also found that diversity and young population is lacking in the long island region. How is texas going to be different? #texas #newyork #life
Huge downgrade .. why would you do this
Hate the fucking cold in new york. Also wife is a doctor so have to move. Plus ny is expensive
Plenty of things to do like in every mega city. You need car to go anywhere. So totally opposite to NYC. Weather is huge bummer especially the humidity and heat in summer. Saps the soul out of you. It isn’t that bad and you get used to it eventually. But if you’re a person into nature, there’s nothing here. Btw, you don’t seem to have a choice. So it’s okay. People and culture is heavily neighborhood dependent. Pick a location where there are big companies - educated population make a good difference.
My body is dying for sun. Living in New York has made me realize sun is a big blessing. Thx fornur feedbaxk
Native Houstonian. The move may be a shock to you. No more Dunkin’ Donuts and a different culture here. Houston is diverse but not as expansive or close together like ny. You won’t survive out here without a car
I make coffee at home, cutting sugar. So no worries. Thanks
Houston is really diverse, but league city is a bit smaller and more secluded. Its nice, but the neighborhood culture isn’t a given. Traffic on I45 may be a bit rough at times bc thats the main road to and from Galveston. Big trucks are common in Texas, and you have some tailgaters for sure. Traffic is usually just trying to move quick, but there are a lot of lanes on most roads so its not too too bad. The closer you get to Houston, the worser the traffic. If you learn how to utilize the 610 loop to your advantage when going to the city, you’ll be fine tho. Flooding and hurricanes will be something to worry about more than in Northern US. The median age in League city is going to bo older than Houston. I’d gauge it to be more so early 40s as a median age off of what Ive seen. Houston is mid 30s, but its easy to meet people. Hope thats helpful :)
Very detailed thanks you so much
I grew up in league city. Hardcore suburban area. Next to kemah which has big boating / salt life population
