My family and I are going on a disney magic cruise. My kid is 2.5, would they allow her to join the kids club ages 3+?

We are going to Cozumel and Progresso and going on a disney magic cruise. One tip which i would love is there any way our kid can join these various kid clubs? I think 2.5 and 3 is nice big difference. Also should we book disney excursions or should arrange it ourselves? Like snorkeling in Cozumel Its our first trip to mexico. Would love the help. I would post these on cruise critic forums which is like the "blind" of cruising! I do think buying excursions from the cruise company are usually overpriced from doing on your own

We did a Disney cruise this spring - they have kids clubs all the way down to babies so you should be fine. Our youngest was three and she went to the oceaneer club every day, there is a club for babies through 3 as well. I think to be in the oceaneer club they have to be out of diapers and potty trained. It's a well oiled system and they outfit them with an RFID arm band that they cannot leave without a parent present - and if they miss you suddenly the club will page you on the app letting you know they've asked you to come get them. You could try to lie about their age but with it being international you do have to document their passport with Disney so they could check. I would just do the Disney excursions if you can but one day we did go on our own and that was fine too. It's a wonderful trip for young kids you'll have a great time!

Thanks so so much for such a kind and detailed reply. I thought i would get trolled. Its our first time in Mexico should we do anything outside of excursions? Is it advised? Should we being pesos with us? Also our best friends have been saying we made a mistake with disney cruise as our baby is younger than 3. Is that correct? I know they only have nursery and we are taking our mother in law with us as nanny lol so my wife and i can enjoy more

Just for simplicity I would see what Disney provides and if it sounds interesting (just easier) - if not we went to Atlantis one day in our own to swim with stingrays for example and just took our own taxis. I don't think you'll have to bring pesos as you can probably get them on the ship as I feel like they think of literally everything! I totally think the Disney cruise is wonderful for young children even under 3 - there were tons of young kids there. The best part is everything is baby proofed and kid friendly so you don't need to bring much. I'm not sure how the nursery works and how long you can drop off younger than 3 year olds however - but I did see quite a few people using the service while we were there!

At younger than 3, the main differences are these: 1. You use the infant kids club, rather than the main kids club. I think it might be a slightly higher fee? Either way, it’s not much. 2. You can’t use the main pool. They have a kiddie splash zone for children under 3. Other than that, everything else is pretty much the same.
