My skip level presented the document which I prepared. During the presentation they were not able to answer some questions. So They pinged me the questions via slack and pasted my answers. They will be discussing/reviewing the doc next week too. Shall I ask them explicitly to include me in the meeting? YOE: 6 TC: 290k
ur welcome
Why did you answer the slack ping? Just ignore it and focus on other work, and they'll be sure to include you in the meeting next time.
If this is skip level, it’s unlikely they are trying to steal your work. Some meetings are limited to senior leaders because of the sensitivity of content or other reasons…. Don’t overthink but you can ask to be included
Just go along with the way your skip wants to do it, and answer any questions they might have. Make him look good in front of the higher ups. This guy is probably in power to promote you if he’s your skip, I feel like that would only help your case
It really depends on the skip, and the reason OP wasn’t included in the meeting. He could be the kind of guy who doesn’t give his reports any visibility; in which case OP has no chance of promotion. Or he could be a servant leader who didn’t include OP due to the meeting being for execs only. In that case, helping him will help OP.
This conclusion is so wrong. Unless the skip is a total monster of course. OP?
Be thankful
Don’t ask to be included. Offer to attend the meeting to address questions that may come up. Your skip then sees you as a team player and can make the call.
This is the way.
Be flattered. They know you got better ideas to steal from the your boss.
Did they call you out as the primary contributor?
I an not aware of what happened in the meeting.
