Wtf is up with AirBNB? My mom, sister, and her fiance were all banned from AirBnB without ever using it. My mom tried to use it for the first time and as she was purchasing a place, she was given a technical error screen. She then got an email saying she was banned and this was final and there was no obligation to tell her why. My sister then tried, and same story. Her fiance tried, same thing. I finally tried and even I was banned. I've used it quite a bit before and have only had good reviews. AirBnB wont tell us anything. WTF kind of scam are they running? After this experience I am glad cities are cracking down on them. Ive read elsewhere that others experience it too with the same bs response. I will gladly use a hotel from now on. Theres not much of a diff in prices anyway. Atleast hotels cant (or at the very minimum dont) ban my whole family without some type of reason.

heres my email
Wow, OP delivers. And they’ve never used it before? I wonder if it’s a name mixup with some crappy people who should be banned. That sucks.
Hotels are 100x better for all kinds of travel. For extended vacations - get a vacation house instead of an Airbnb. Dunno why people use them
Airbnb is going to the dogs. Customer support is given by super host who always has hosts interests in mind
If you and your family suck as much as this post you wrote, I'd ban you all too.
Airbnb 🃏 spotted
I don't work for or care about Airbnb, but calling Airbnb a scam or Ponzi scheme is just as illogical as supposedly an entire family getting banned for no reason. I suspect there is stuff that OP is not sharing. In any case, like I said this post sucks
If I were you, I’d be worried next time I go board a plane...
Check where is the next event that their CEO is going to, go there and make a complain in front of the audience. Recently that approach seems to get a lot of attention.
Lol, im not that dedicated .
I can make an educated guess about what happened. 2-3 years ago, airbnb acquired a stealth mode online security startup called trooly They used to look at people’s online data and identities to assign them a “trust score” Its possible that one of your family members has a bad online reputation. It could also be the case of a stolen identity
Hmm interesting, I will have to look into that a bit more. The lack of support airbnb is what is so frustrating though.
The lack of support is a big clue that this is related to anti-abuse or anti-fraud. Companies aren't eager to give the fraudsters clues on how to circumvent their algorithms. It's an arms race.
Give VRBO.com a try
We ended up using that, thank you for the suggestion!
Well they did something wrong, it's not like Airbnb doesn't want customers.
How’s that a ponzi scheme?
Changed to scam.
