I (PMM, not SWE) get hit up by a lot of “#unicorn” companies with $1-2B valuations, after researching them more, I don’t see a strong exit path for a lot of them, some are in such a crowded area (HR and Martech solutions, API/SDK platforms) that even acquisition seems to be a long shot. And just a look at the CB Insights list (it’s a damn fortune 1000 at this point) shows that simply being a “unicorn” no longer correlates with a strong future for exit opps in regards to ROI on options/RSU’s https://www.cbinsights.com/research-unicorn-companies So what are the best ways to look for future exit potential? What valuation actually matters these days and at which round should that valuation be hit (ie A, B, C?)
sure valuation but more important are the exec team and investors. second the growth chart
What’s a good resource for growth charts? Especially with so much private data. I’m talking to an early series b company and have no clue how to evaluate potential of this company
you have to ask them
That list is incomplete... ^
