The investment funds in the 401k Vanguard direct platform are all mutual funds. Do all companies offer just mutual funds in their 401k plan offerings. Aren’t mutual fund less tax efficient than ETFs. Isn’t it better to just invest everything in ETF equivalents rather than Roth 401k counterparts? I am maxing out my 401k and also investing in Robinhood just want to make sure I am putting money in the right place. #personalfinance #investments TC 190k
At Microsoft you actually control the money of your 401k. Treat it like a brokerage account. Do day trades at any company in the market (expect MSFT). No option obviously.
Your company tells vanguard what to offer. Blame your hr
HR at better is non-existent. Benefits consists of 3 people. Their people infrastructure is a fucking nightmare.
It is pretty typical.
The mutual fund company gives big kickbacks to your employer so that employees have no choice but to select very high fee underperforming fund options
Is it the case at every company?
Some are better than others—- I wish I had the ability to just choose low fee index funds
I don't think the mutual fund vs ETF matters in a 401k. There are no taxes on trades within it. Maybe the fees are different tho?
what’s funds do you have apart from target date funds ?
