Where in this country can a young single man afford a single family home? Somewhere close to / within a major city, preferably close to an ocean/beach (impossible??) or a lake, good schools including a great university nearby, great hospitals or at least one major health center, preferably an airport within a 30 min drive, AND SOMEWHERE WITH PLENTY OF SINGLE WOMEN. What’s the Bay Area of the future? It looks like all the great cities for real estate (NYC, SF Bay Area, Seattle and Austin) are already too expensive and unaffordable for wage slaves like myself. Interest rates will remain high and maybe even go higher in the next few years. I would like to lock something in at a place where houses will cost a fortune down the road. Is there any city that meets my parameters that is affordable and will be as expensive as major cities are in the near future? Gods of real estate, where art thou? TC: 190k
Upstate New York. Tech triangle North Carolina. Nashville, Tennessee.
Come to Phoenix, it's better here.
Wow, houses there look decent and are very affordable. How’s it like living there?
It's hot during the summer. Last year we had over 30 days in a row of 110+ degree weather. Nice the other 9 months. If you like snow you can take a 2 hour car ride to Flagstaff which gets some of the most snow in the country during the winters. Obviously there's no beaches here.
