What are your thoughts on energy drinks blind? I’m a daily coffee (morning) and tea (afternoon) drinker, but the other day I drank one of the small 8.4oz Red Bull and felt way more focused and productive than just coffee. Am I going to have a heart attack if I have a Red Bull a couple times / week and reduce coffee on those days?
Red Bull isn’t good for you. Period.
What’s bad about it? They look like 1-2 cups of coffee worth of caffeine which is how much coffee I drink in morning.
Lots of sugar. Taurine. Other crap your body doesn’t need.
Getting health advice on Blind…should go well
I wanted prestigious health advice
Heart attack? Geeze, from do you folks drop in. Increase caffeine usually results in nervousness, insomnia and restlessness. Not heart attack lol.
Seems to be a decent amount of healthy young people having energy drink related deaths. But maybe they are just drinking insane amounts
Coffee with sugar is just as bad.
Yes I don’t do sugar. But yes it seems to be roughly the same but Red Bull has some other stimulants? Just paranoid after reading about teens having heart attacks
Sleep, healthy food, and mental white space for focus is your best option. Everything else is going to be a downgrade. Red Bull is more artificial than coffee, definitely worse.
I would prioritize drinking normal coffee and increase to expresso if needed. If you get tired of drinking coffee then I would drink green tea to mix things up. I personally only rely on energy drinks in emergency situations.
Omg a TVA employee. Are you in Knoxville?
No, I live in Charlotte. I work remotely.
It’s caffeine, sugar, and B vitamins (3, 5, 6, and 12). You can look up the likely effects at dose over time.
It’s fine. Since redbull is a cold drink, it’s more chuggable and you get the boost faster. It’s very handy between back to back meetings when you dont have time to pull a shot. I drink diet version.
Always do sugar free for work. The sugar one is way too much for desk work and will give you the jitters. And in terms of health effects, it only takes 1 gallon of water to flush it from the kidneys so you should be good. They literally hand it out on the run during Ironman triathlons so it’s all fine
Never do that unless your job is on the line. It's not good for you, and these companies could care less about you.
