Team Convoy just won Next Tech Titan at Geekwire and I remembered last year winner was BitTitan. Then I saw their GlassDoor and looks like a massacre https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/BitTitan-Reviews-E630074.htm
Have several friends at both Convoy and Outreach (who were also nominated). Both companies are doing incredibly well. Convoy in particular is picking up a lot of amazing talent from Seattle. I don’t know about BitTitan though. The companies this year seemed much stronger than last year. In general, Seattle start up scene is picking very quickly. Rover and Avalara will probably IPO shortly. I was disappointed that GlassDoor sold. We need more companies with HQ in Seattle and not just satellite offices. And stronger local VCs.
Is the CEO named Thanos?
I worked there and got out. The problem is Geeman the CEO. He randomized dev teams, parked himself on the DevOps team because he thought he could do it better, and spent most of his days telling everyone they were fucking stupid. And he doesn’t care we all have been telling this, he’s just an incompetent dictator burning his own money. Take that “Amazon is a better culture” comment seriously, because OMFG so true.
It is bad, very bad. Most good people have left. The comments you see on Glassdoor about the CEO’s attitude and behavior are sadly accurate. At this point even the CTO has left; and BitTitan has reverted to what their original business was: Migrations.
It's terrible. A friend went from there to Amazon and said the wlb and culture are better at Amazon.
