How much money is required to push a stock from $400 to $480 in a day? META is the focus of this dicussion. I know they were doing a buy back thing but I am curious if there is a formula. Also if you have any interesting general finance formulas worth studying. I appreciate you sharing, this type of thing is fun for me to know and tinker with.

Price means nothing without knowing open interest (shares outstanding)
Prices move by willing buyers and sellers. If no one is overall selling from 400 to 480 and everyone wants to buy at 480, it can jump 480 immediately.
It doesn't work this way... The buy back thing didn't happen, they just announced an increase of the buyback budget by 50 billion that will be used through 2024. The market price is just the equilibrium of buyers and sellers.
