Hello good folks of NVIDA, I do not like Apple’s vacation policy. It’s just 12 days the first 3 years and then it becomes min(15+(yoe-3), 22). Also getting 3 weeks off is very difficult, specially if it is before or after shutdown. NVIDIA seems to have “unlimited” vacation days, which is usually even worse. Can you folks please share your experiences with 3 or more weeks of vacation requests? One good thing of Apple is the two shutdowns: 1. Unofficial thanksgiving week off 2. Official Christmas to New year Does NVIDIA have similar shutdowns? It did not seem so from their website. Motivation: I always hear good things about NVIDIA. Want to understand more about vacation policy for a (distant) future move. TC: 210K, HWT, Austin #nvidia #apple #vacation
Depends on your team and their deadlines. Thanksgiving can be a quiet week and most folks take end of year off assuming no CES prep. Then vacations on top of that, and 2 more days a quarter just as a bonus holiday from Jensen.
My team members typically take 4 weeks of vacation in a year, but it's usually spread out. Totally depends on team and milestone
Depends on manager .. some managers are very stingy when it comes to giving leaves
I have a global team. To be fair, I give my US employees 5 to 6 weeks vacation 🙊
Do you have any job openings? I am looking for verification and performance modeling role
Life is better here, significantly better. This is from an Ex Apple employee.
Apple sucks when compared to Nvidia. I take 5 weeks vacation, other than the 8 free days 😀
Many Indian guys in my team have been taking 3-4 weeks of vacation to go to India.
Early in the year, late in the summer is when I see most people take long vacations.
I have taken 1+ month vacations, it's all based on your relationship with your manager. I personally feel it's a great policy.
We have 2 free days every quarter
