For Amex job applications, there’s a section that asks you to list base salary requirement. For NY, you don’t have to say your previous comp. However, should you put down your expected base comp when the posted range is wide like $110k-$190k? Should you put down your acceptable range? Coming from Chase, this range stretches from Associate to VP. Current TC 0 Previous 143k #productmanager
Yeah that one sounds right. If you’re a strong fit they’ll likely offer around 130-160 base. 190 I haven’t heard for a manager… bonus starts at 12% but depending on the company and your personal rating can go to 25-30% with multipliers or a bit more for top 10% performers
Yeah it’s a big no. I doubt they do that for a Sr. Mgr. 205 is what a director can expect
What band level/title are you applying for? For sr managers, I would aim for the middle in the range around 150.
Sr pm. From reading other threads and looking at level, the band avg around 150k base
Yeah that’s a realistic base.
I have seen 200+ base for managers. It’s possible if you have a skillset that enterprise thinks is hot, like AI/ML etc.
I've never worked at Amex but I'd probably just put $190k. I assume the question was just to weed out people with way too high expectations like wanting $400k for the role.
